  1. Carambola is a small evergreen tree (Averrhoa
  2. carambola) of South East Asia. 
  3. The fruits, called star fruit, are yellowish,
  4. about 12cm (4inches) long, with a 
  5. five-pointed star-shaped cross-section. 
  6. They can either be eaten raw, cooked, or
  7. pickled, they are also juicily acidic.
  8. The juice is useful for removing stains from
  9. hands and clothes.
